I am a Minnesota-born, California based Stain-Glass Artist. I retired from teaching middle school Algebra and now I spend my days (and evenings) continuing to make my stained-glass creations. My mother was an incredibly talented China Painting Artist who also had her hands in every type of craft ~ from China and oil painting to sewing to clay working to anything she found interesting, she could do and do it exceptionally. I hope someday I will be as talented as my mother had been.
I started my stained-glass artwork when my husband had taken me to classes in glass-blowing and stained-glass at the Chrysler Glass Studio and Art Museum in Norfolk, VA. After returning to San Diego, I continued to take stained-glass classes at The Blue Dolphin Art Glass Studio. I am forever grateful to Michael and Stan (of Blue Dolphin) for putting up with me and teaching me to be creative and branch out into more difficult stained-glass items!
I am now venturing out and learning how to fuse glass to broaden my artistic ability in working with glass. Thanks to all the fusing artists (and Blue Dolphin) who are helping me learn how to fuse ~ I hope to be as good as them in the future!
I display items I love to make; nothing is ever the same twice, whether it is by color, design, shape, or size.
